By popular demand, here’s my holiday season gift guide featuring companies and projects in which I’ve invested or have been involved in some form.
- GoCater. Order catering services for your office party this holiday with GoCater. GoCater’s American counterpart, EZCater, raised $100 million to acquire GoCater this past summer. So that means GoCater now sits inside an organization with even more resources, more caterers, and broader coverage worldwide. [Note: Due to this acquisition I no longer have a referral link but recommend GoCater nonetheless].
- Revolut. Revolut has emerged as my top fintech startup from a consumer standpoint this year. Its interbank rate offer on currency exchange and versatile cashback metal card ticks all the boxes for me. Until Christmas, they’re waiving their one-time charge for the basic card via this referral link.
- CurrencyFair. If foreign currency conversion is all you need, CurrencyFair offers the nice benefit allowing limit orders as well as instant spot exchange. The only time a fee applies is when you withdraw funds from your CurrencyFair account (and the fee is rarely more then 3 euros). Here’s a referral link for some free credit.
- TransferWise. For small business owners with international affairs but ignored by the mainline banks, TransferWise’s Borderless Account fits the bill. Here’s a referral link for a free transfer.
- Kang. Give someone the gift of a logo, website, custom video, or other creative digital arts service from the Kang professional marketplace.
- Finally, my two charitable projects for the year: Japan: Bitcoin #1 and Land of the Rising Blockchain. I direct all profits from the sales of these books to Japan’s Tohoku region, still in reconstruction from the 2011 earthquake and tsunami.
I wish everyone an enjoyable holiday season !
