Opportunity in HTML5 Playable Ads

April 3, 2018

I’ve written in the past about the broad potential for HTML5 in casual games. This potential is already playing out on mobile messaging platforms, like Facebook’s Instant Games. I’ve also imagined a world in which HTML5 might usher in a new generation of mobile advertising solutions by facilitating playable ads.

A friend at a prominent mobile gaming company in Japan just informed me about a work-for-hire gig in exactly this area. It’s a short-term project (details below), but I would not be surprised if one good deed leads to another on this sort of thing.

Any HTML5 developers interested in this project: feel free to send me an email which I can easily forward. I understand that this job can be performed remotely; Japanese language ability not required.

Project

  • Mission: make a playable ad exactly like this for a hit game
  • Term: 2-3 weeks from order
  • Compensation: $5k
  • Other: they provide graphic materials; developer makes visual effects
