Triathlon Cabanes de Fleury

August 27, 2018

Race report on last week’s Cabanes de Fleury triathlon

Pros:

  • one of the few Mediterranean Sea triathlons taking place in August
  • pleasant bike course with a couple modest climbs
  • free bottle of wine for all triathletes (preferably consumed post-race, not pre-)
  • relaxed, convivial ambiance overall

Cons:

  • a 3:30pm start during peak heat of the day (they just love these afternoon starts in the south of France)
  • water entry confusion during the swim start — cost me 5-10 minutes after the whistle blew, but hey, it’s all in good fun so no complaints

Conclusion: a delightful way to wrap up the August holiday period; I’ll probably return.
