Earlier this month we enthusiastically closed on our seed investment in Braid Technologies. When we first meet Guido and Ivo in 2020, we were impressed with their technical prowess and open minds. It took us a few months to finally grasp the transformative potential of the technology they were building.

Braid is building the next generation of generative design tooling. In an admittedly overly simplistic summary, Braid’s platform will enable an entirely new conception of product design. One application is light-weighting. For instance, a hinge of a vehicle could be redesigned to provide the same or superior properties of durability and reliability but at a lower weight. A lighter weight results in greater fuel efficiency and lower materials costs throughout the supply chain. The sustainability applications alone are mind-boggling.
