On a recent homecoming visit to Silicon Valley I played a little Buy, Sell, or Hold? with a bunch of smart people out there. Here are the results:

(For those not familiar with the game: Buy, Sell, or Hold? is quite simple. If <X> were a stock, would you buy, sell, or hold ?)

1. Buy, Sell or Hold on… Diversity in Tech ?

The general consensus of the people I queried coalesced around a Buy. Some underscored this aspiration as a very long-term Buy.

2. Buy, Sell or Hold on… Kale ?

At unanimity, Kale was a Strong Sell. I suppose this also means that Kale smoothies will start popping up in Paris in about 3 months…

3. Buy, Sell or Hold on… WhatsApp ?

This one elicited the most heteroskedasticity in responses. Some gave WhatsApp a Sell. My friend at Facebook predictably give it a Buy. One investor who had recently traveled in South America even gave it a Strong Buy.
